As most of us grin and bear rowing on the water at this time of year, it is often quite cold. Wrapping up with lots of warm layers is a must. Another must is Pogies. Pogies are specially designed gloves for rowing. They work by still allowing your hands contact with the oar handle so grip isn’t an issue. They surround the hands and oar handle to keep your hands warm and dry.

After rowing with them on the other morning when the temperature plumitted to -5, they far exceeded their value by keeping my hands very warm. They are made out of a fleece material to maintain warmth, with an elasticated surround on all holes to keep everything sealed.

Orignally designed for sliding seat rowing and sculling, they work perfectly with a standard gig oar.

So remember, wrap up warm and take out a pair of Pogies!
