Coverack Gig Club :: RESULTS & REPORT

We had some light rain during the morning and whilst the gigs arrived but the rain tailed off just prior to the coxes meeting and the sea conditions were just perfect for rowing.
We ended up with 13 clubs attending and we were particularly impressed to see the distance clubs had travelled for our event and in particular Salcombe and Paignton.
The coxes meeting started at 1.00p.m. and the last gig went over the finishing line in the last race of the day (Veterans) at 4.38p.m. so well done one and all.
The racing during the afternoon was very exciting with some great competition going on all over the field.
Our sincere thanks go out to Peter Fisher (Starter), Michael Williams, John Lentil  Adam Anderson and the Devoran and Rock clubs for also helping out (Umpires) and for giving up their time so freely.
May we once again thank all those clubs who attending our event and trust you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2010.

UPDATE :: 1730 :: Friday July 17th

The Coverack Regatta is definitely on tomorrow along with the World Duck racing championships, I understand there will be 18 plus gigs in attendance.

Coverack Gig Club – GIG DAY – Saturday 18th July 2009 at Porthoustock Beach.
Coxes Meeting: 12:30pm / First Race: 1:00 pm.
Race Order: Men’s A, Men’s B, U16′s, Ladies A, Ladies B, U14′s, Mixed,Vets

If any of you have any of our trophies please, please, please can we have them back at Mounts Bay this weekend or at Mevagissey by the latest.
