A superb day on the beach and on the water. Falmouth had a bit of a clean sweep overall! Top 3’s – Vets : Falmouth/Cadgwith/Helford. U16s : Cadgwith, Helford, Truro. MensA : Falmouth, Flushing & Mylor, Padstow – great close finish between these two crews.  LadiesA : Falmouth, Newquay, Padstow. U14s : Cadgwith, Porthleven, Coverack. MensB : Falmouth, Lizard, Newquay. LadiesB : Helford, Mounts Bay, Newquay.

Buller Day :: Saturday August 8th

Buller Day, is nearing, this year falling on 8th August 2009. Racing will commence in Cadgwith Cove at 2pm, with the gig club running a BBQ and bar all day. Please do come along to support us, at what is always a popular event in the gig racing calendar. Fingers crossed for no rain and a calm sea, unlike last year!

We would ask if boats could start arriving from 10.00am as it does take time to unload the boats in the cove. It would be appreciated if all gigs could follow the signs to Cadgwith and avoid the route through Ruan Minor (head towards the Lizard) Once at the top of the hill Cadgwith members will be on hand to organise the transportation of the gigs down the hill. It would be appreciated if all rowers could follow the signs to Ruan Minor where we have managed to organise fields for parking. The field will be signposted and is situated at the top of the hill going into Cadgwith, a 5min walk to the Cove.

Racing will commence after the Cox’s meeting which will be at 2.00pm.
The order of races is as follows;

Vets
Under 16s
Mens A
Ladies A
Under 14s
Mens B
Ladies B
Mixed

We are hoping that the weather is good to us this year and all visiting crews enjoy their time in Cadgwith. We will be running a BBQ and a bar throughout the day and a disco is planned for the evening. Unfortunately due to the event being held in the height of the summer this year, the cove offers even more restrictions. To make it a happy but safe day for rowers and spectators we will unfortunately have to limit numbers. It is essential therefore that you let me know as soon as possible if you want to attend.
