About

GigRower is ”the online resource for the pilot gig community”, a community “fan” site for the sport of gig rowing.

It’s a blog, I have chosen a blog based platform called Wordpress to run GigRower (Thank you Jeremy for the tip!).  This makes the focus of the site the blog, a stream of posts or news articles about gig rowing.  Only the latest ten posts are listed on the home page, older posts are archived and listed on the side bar by both date and category.

Editorial. GigRower reserves the right to amend or delete posts, content, video or imagery that is of an inappropriate nature for this site.

The event diary, is run using a Google Calender plugin and lists all the upcoming gig events, with event details if I have them.  The next 15 gig events are listed on the home page and a full list for the year ahead can be seen on the Gig Events page as a list.

Gig pics, are available for sale through this site.  The images themselves remain the property and responsibility of the image owner, not GigRower. Should you have any issue with the content of images presented on GigRower please contact the image owner direct or toby@gigrower.co.uk with your query - inappropriate imagery will be removed and make sure you have sought suitable permission from the subjects of the image where necessary – most clubs as part of their membership form should have a disclaimer that imagery may be used for promotional/advertising material.

Gig clubs. This lists gig clubs as an alphabetical list with links to individual club websites, I have also created a google map that shows their geographical location.

Other stuff. Gig Vids lists a series of Gig Videos drawn in from You Tube.  Gig History gives an overview of the Cornish Pilot Gig. Gig Gear lists useful suppliers for the gig community.

Subscribe, so you can keep updated.  If you want GigRower to email you when new posts are added insert your email on the home page under ‘Subscribe’.  If you would like to subscribe to our RSS feed (What is RSS? click here) click the RSS link on the home page.

Who updates GigRower? 90% of the posts on this site are sent in by Gig Clubs and Gig Rowers.  If you have some news or results then drop me an email me and I will post it on the site.

The mag … GigRower, will be out for Newquay 2010.   If you would like to contribute then please get in touch.

I hope you find the site useful, if you find anything that is inaccurate, would like to add something or have any comments then please get in touch.

Toby ;)
