Newquay :: Live updates day 1

19:59:: What a day, 90+ crews down to 24 through two tough rounds of racing. See you 09:30 for ladies quarters. Who from the last 24 Ladies will make it through the quarter finals tomorrow? An on form Falmouth Ladies A are looking ominous after a 16:36 in the closing round of the day but any of the crews that posted a sub 18 could be looking at a place in the final.

All the races of the quarters look like they could be very close run with 1 and 3 particularly so.

Here’s the list of crews for the quarters :

18:10 :: Plate race winner: Teign B by a length or so from Swanage A in Hope. Some pics from the day too -

17:50 :: Plate race draw (this eve): Teign B, Mevagissey C, Truro C, Devoran C, Torridge A, Swanage A.

16:48 :: Round 2 race 6 just starting. Conditions kinder than this morning, racing following form but the heats are much closer now. First from each race and then fastest 16 to find the 24 that line up tomorrow.

15:18 :: Round 2 under way shortly. Wind easing a little, conditions good for the remaining 48 crews.

12:36 :: Racing started on time with crews getting the best of the conditions in the early first round races. Conditions are changing through the day. The NW wind is strengthening and slowing times down as we get to the last heats of round 1.
