NEWLYN FISH FESTIVAL

LIFEBOAT GIG RACE

Parade of Gigs – 12.00

Start of Race – 12.30

Presentation to Winning Crew – 13.30 tbc

Gigs can as usual be launched from the slipway next to
the Inshore Lifeboat Station and are to moor up to
pontoons – access to the festival is free to competitors
and can be gained via the pontoons. Trailers can be parked
at Sandy Cove.

Course – Start off Newlyn Harbour Wall, 1st turn at Low
Lee buoy, 2nd turn at yellow Penzance Sailing Club
buoy (just SE of The Gear Pole), finish line in Newlyn
Harbour in front of Fish Market. (NB. All Gigs must carry
a radio using Channel 72).

and club, along with a few words about both (so that
the announcer can introduce the boat and club during
