Newquay Ladies Day 1 – As it happens … Live feed

1721 – Last results in. Just waiting on the draw, crews definitely through: Padstow A, Newquay A, Truro A, Scilly A, Salcombe A, Charlestown A, Falmouth A & Teign A. Those crews all won their respective heat and automatically qualify for day two.

1714 – All races now complete, just waiting for the draw then early to bed. Interesting course this year, much longer than normal and a stiff offshore breeze is making for challenging conditions.

1411 – Race 16, last race of round 1 is underway. Second round draw to follow.

1240 – Race 13 now lining up. Does anybody know the progression? Tweet #gigrowing

1217 – Race 11 about to set off. Lovely warm weather out of the wind. Times still progressively getting slower. Will be interesting to see if there are any shock first round exits.

1155 – Right, sorry for the slack updates. Race 9 is currently underway, racing is getting behind with some interesting starting. The wind is going to start playing a factor as normal with the crews that rowed in the early races having an advantage. Be sure to follow @_gigrower on twitter for more updates.

0840 – And the sun is shining!

0830 – Fog starting to clear now, can finally see the course. Wonder if today’s proceedings will start on time?

0809 – The fog is thickening. Can’t see a thing! Hopefully it will burn off soon..
